Is OCT for me?

One of the great developments in ophthalmic diagnosis is the advent of the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Invented in the 1990s and made commercially available in the early 2000s, OCT has been a revolutionary diagnostic test in the evaluation and treatment of such conditions like Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, and Diabetic Retinopathy.
OCT has undergone a few generations of development. Current machines are able to visualize the different layers of retina down to the level of capillaries. OCT is indispensable in the treatment of Macular Degeneration. It is safe and can be performed multiple times without damaging ocular structures.
Here at LOC, we have employed OCT since 2002 with excellent results. We continue to the offer latest advancements in this technology, including OCT angiography.
